Terry Skiverton: AFC Wimbledon assistant manager diagnosed with throat cancer

BBC Sport · World Cup

AFC Wimbledon assistant manager Terry Skiverton has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is scheduled to begin treatment in the coming weeks.

The League One club said Skiverton had faced further health challenges since announcing in July that he would take time away from his duties to recover from ankle surgery.

A club statement said:, external "Terry has been receiving valuable support from the League Managers Association (LMA) in recent months, and the club will continue to stand alongside him and his family throughout his treatment and recovery.

"Everyone at AFC Wimbledon sends Terry their heartfelt best wishes as he prepares for the next stage of his treatment."

The 51-year-old joined AFC Wimbledon in May 2022 as Johnnie Jackson's assistant and helped the club win promotion to League One through the play-offs in 2025.
