New Vinicius Jr to Arsenal transfer timeline with 'decisive' talks imminent

Mikel Arteta has made the Brazil international his No1 attacking target, with the bombshell opportunity in the transfer market having emerged as he has just 12 months remaining on his Real Madrid contract. At present, there is no extension agreed.

Spanish news outlets are claiming that Los Blancos have already proposed their final terms for a new deal to Vinicius. That stance has seemingly benefitted Arsenal with momentum moving in their favour, football.london understands.

A deal for the 25-year-old remains complex and expensive but it is certainly possible especially with personal terms broadly agreed, according to The Independent. Their report has, however, also claimed that the preference of both Vini and Real is for him to stay in the Spanish capital.

But with the two sides quite far apart in their stances over a contract extension, there is no current indication anything will be agreed soon.

That is another factor that could help the Gunners with it also claimed that the situation surrounding his future is entering a decisive period and thus it is possible it is decided over the coming days.

Arteta & Co would benefit from wrapping up the deal before preparation for the new season really start to ramp up, with their first official friendly taking place tonight against Girona (7pm Saturday).

Arsenal have a second fixture against Real Betis a few days later on Wednesday, and it does not seem impossible that Bruno Guimaraes' future is resolved by then. The Newcastle United star is edging closer to joining the Premier League champions, with several claims made of an agreement being reached.

football.london understands that discussions through intermediaries are close to finding the sweet spot which would then likely result in a formal bid being made to the Magpies.
