Arsenal transfer news - Vini Jr agreement, Romero swoop, Guimaraes medical

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes and football.london understands the Brazilian playmaker has completed his medical at the Emirates Stadium ahead of a £75m move.

It's another major signing for the Gunners as they look to go back-to-back and retain their Premier League title, while also going one step further in the Champions League.

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior is one signing that would certainly help the club get over the line in the Champions League, with Arsenal keen on signing the 26-year-old, if he fails to agree on new terms with Los Blancos.

However, recent reports claim Jose Mourinho's side has improved its contract offer, which could mean he stays at the Bernabeu this summer.

That could have knock-on effects on the transfer market, with Bradley Barcola also admired by the Gunners.

However, it now appears as though the winger's heart was never really in a move to Arsenal, judging by a short message shared online with his followers after agreeing an extension through to 2032.

He wrote: "Eight years at the Bernabeu are so short...six more years and FOREVER, Real Madrid."
