Premier League champions Arsenal are among the clubs entering the competition at this late stage due to European commitments while Chelsea must get past Luton Town on Thursday evening. Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, face Championship side Charlton Athletic this evening for a spot in the next round.

The draw is set to commence at roughly 10:30pm, following Preston North End's round-two tie against Everton. And 17 teams have already advanced, including Leeds United and Coventry City, with Brentford, West Ham United and Millwall also making it through.

The next set of knockout fixtures are due to take place during the week commencing 7th and 14th of September with the Champions League set to start over this period.

Those teams in Europe and entering the competition for the first time this season are: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Sunderland.

Of those, Brighton can reach Europe via the Conference League, but that competition does not begin until October, so it does not affect the Round Three schedule.
