The Guardian

Prefer the Guardian on GoogleWhile questions have been asked of Arsenal’s attacking intent, there can be no complaints about their home form so far this season.

Indeed, the reigning Premier League champions have won all four matches at the Emirates Stadium, scoring 10 goals and conceding just twice. The absence of Bukayo Saka through injury, however, could affect the Gunners’ potency in the final third.

Everton, meanwhile, are aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Chelsea. David Moyes’s side remain well positioned in eighth place, but could fall back again with another loss this weekend.

Nobody truly knows if this season’s Premier League title race is genuine as Manchester City play on with a grand piano above their heads, but Arsenal are doing their bit by staying within touching distance of the top spot.

The Gunners grinded out an unconvincing 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest in their last league outing, but showed a different side to their game by going toe-to-toe with Bayern Munich in the Champions League a few days later.

Everton’s best chance of a positive result in north London may be to stay compact at the back and hit on the counterattack, although a similar ploy did little to stop Chelsea claiming all three points against the Toffees last weekend.

Player to watch: Eberechi Eze, Arsenal – Hauled off at half-time of last weekend’s win over Forest, Eze responded positively with a goal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. With Saka expected to miss out, the onus will be on Eze to provide a spark for the champions.
