Matty Cash has not been named in Aston Villa’s squad to face Club Brugge in the Champions League.
Left at home due to muscle discomfort, Villa were keen to protect their first-choice right-back, meaning Aaron Wan-Bissaka is making his debut for the club.
It’s unclear whether Cash will be available to face his former club, Nottingham Forest, on Saturday, with Unai Emery due to speak to the media to preview that game on Friday.
Wan-Bissaka is one of three changes Emery has made for the match against Brugge.
Pau Torres and João Gomes have also come into the side, with Tyrone Mings and Ross Barkley dropping to the bench.
Villa are also without Leon Goretzka, Johan Manzambi and Brian Madjo due to injury. The latter was not included in the Champions League squad anyway.
Neither was Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who, despite replacing Ezri Konsa on deadline day, was not included in the Champions League squad.
