Blackburn Rovers match-winner

Lancashire Telegraph · By Elliott Jackson

Yuki Ohashi was delighted to hit double figures for the season and help secure Blackburn Rovers' place in the Championship.

The Japanese forward was in fantastic form as he netted twice at Bramall Lane, scoring as he did at that ground last season.

It was enough to ensure Rovers will be a Championship club next season and remove any jeopardy from their final match against Leicester City.

Ohashi was delighted to contribute and celebrate with the fans in the away end.

“First of all, I’m so grateful to the fans for their support of us throughout the season,” he told RoversTV.

“I’m very happy to celebrate with the fans. The atmosphere was unbelievable and I must say thank you to them, because I appreciate all of our supporters.

“I’m so relieved that we’ve managed to secure our place and it’s nice to get two goals.

“As a striker, I think getting 10 goals is a minimum, a base for a season. I’m pleased to contribute towards the team’s win. The goals were deserved tonight and I think everyone deserved the win tonight.

“We have another game next week, so we will keep going, and the focus is on going again for that last game.

"I am very happy to celebrate with the fans. The atmosphere was unbelievable. We appreciate all the support."
