THERE will be some ‘small’ adaptations to the Cherries' style of play under Marco Rose, but he will continue the blueprint set by predecessor Andoni Iraola.

When it was announced that Rose would replace Iraola this summer back in April, it was made clear that the club want to continue the aggressive pressing approach that Iraola brought to Dean Court, and the German would do that.

Asked if his side would be more aggressive in that manner than Iraola’s Cherries, Rose said: "I would say even more aggressive than Andoni is quite difficult.

"I think there are just small adaptations we're going to do because we came sixth.

"It was an unbelievable season with an amazing outcome.

"So we talk about small adaptations.

"You said it right, maybe in possession we're going to bring some more players in the centre to have other connections or things like this.

"Nowadays, mostly you talk about teams, they have a more man-orientated approach, or you defend more in the space and things like this.

"You can do it in different areas, in a different way.

"Higher, a little bit more man-orientated, in deeper spaces, more ball and space orientated.

"So I try to figure out in the trainings what the lads like to do, what they really need, and then we adapt just a couple of things."
