Cherries happy with summer business so far with squad

Bournemouth have brought in three new faces in striker Alvaro Rodriguez, centre back António Silva, and right back Juanlu Sanchez.

Those three signings cover the positions that were seen as a priority this summer.

A striker was needed as Enes Unal is expected to depart, Marcos Senesi left after his contract expired so Silva comes in to replace him, while a right back was needed after Alex Jimenez’s departure to Fiorentina after his suspension.

The club have spent more than €60million on those players, but, with the Silva deal in particular, they feel they have got good prices for them, considering the market in its current state, it is understood.

The plan remains to keep hold of all their key players, including young stars Alex Scott, Rayan, and Junior Kroupi, with interest reported in all three this summer, as well as for midfielder Tyler Adams, who is also not for sale.

There may still be further outgoings of more fringe players this summer.

Unal has had plenty of interest and looks to be leaving, as expected, while a number of clubs have expressed interest in fellow striker Daniel Jebbison.

Bournemouth may look to bring in a second goalkeeper, after they ended their interest in Christos Mandas, but they are continuing to assess Will Dennis and whether to send the stopper out on loan again or keep him as competition to Djordje Petrovic.

Marco Rose told the Daily Echo that the club may look for a second centre back signing too, with Veljko Milosavljevic out injured, but the club may also stick with the options they have there and use Lewis Cook or development squad player Harold William as cover if necessary.

Beyond that, it is understood that the club see the squad as 95 per cent complete, and that remaining five per cent may be solely outgoings between now and the end of the transfer window on September 1.
