It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. MARCO Rose said he does not pay much attention to the noise around opposite number Michael Carrick as he prepares to take his Cherries side to face Manchester United, but he knows their hosts may be looking for a big response.

United were well beaten by Como in midweek in the Champions League, leading to plenty of speculation over Carrick's future.

But Rose said Bournemouth are not focusing on that.

"It does not affect us and our work, and yeah, mostly it's about the manager," he said.

"But at the end of the day I'm quite sure that the manager of Manchester United tells the players before the game that it's about mentality, about effort, about attitude.

"I hear the voices or the noises around the club.

"But I don't know what helps us because everyone in Manchester knows now what to do, how to do it.

"And it's up to us to go there, to be focused, to bring our football on the pitch, to react well on situations.

"I think they're going to be angry. They're going to be intense.

"We have to face it and have to make an open game out of it, and at the end we want to win it."

Rose knows that United might be like a wounded animal and will want to show a big reaction on Sunday when the Cherries visit Old Trafford.

"You always get on a point where you have nothing to lose anymore," he said.

"Sometimes as a manager, as a club, as players, and that's why it's always difficult.

"I don't want to talk so much about Manchester United because we are Bournemouth. We are going there, it's our next opponent. They had a big loss in the Champions League.

"And as I remember if I went to Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, or if I trained bigger clubs after big losses and difficult situations, you are always keen to give the right response.

"So we just have to be ready in every way. We have to react on the situations we get into the game.

"We have to start well. We have to keep the energy. We have to keep the confidence whatever happens because it's a difficult stadium to play.

"It's a big stadium with top fans. So we just have to be ready."

Rose has never visited Old Trafford before, and he is looking forward to it.

He said: "I've heard a lot of good things about the stadium, but I was never there!"
