Brighton Women have officially signed Emily Murphy from Newcastle United.
Last season, she made 37 appearances for the Magpies. The 23-year-old bagged nine goals and got 13 assists.
Women’s first team head coach Dario has expressed his excitement about her arrival.
Dario Vidosic said: “Emily has shown that she has both a good eye for goal and the ability to provide for her teammates.
“She had a taste of WSL football with Chelsea before then, so she knows the standards that we will be demanding from her.
“Emily also adds good quality to an area we needed to strengthen, so I am excited to work with her.”
The forward started her career with Chelsea Women, progressing through the club's academy system. She made her senior debut in 2019.
She made the move to Newcastle United in January 2025, playing a key role as they finished sixth in WSL2 last season.
Despite previously representing England at youth level, she has switched allegiance to the Republic of Ireland for senior international football and has since collected 18 caps.
