Rutter says teams are ‘waiting for’ Albion after good run

The Seagulls made it eight games undefeated, though not in the manner they wanted with a 0-0 draw at Jablonec.

Rutter had chances to make the breakthrough against the Czech side.

But Albion drew a first blank since the opening game of the season, at Tromso, and saw their run of six wins come to an end.

Their only defeat remains the 4-3 thriller at Chelsea as they now prepare to visit Liverpool.

Rutter said: “I think everybody is waiting for us a bit.

“They want to be the second to beat us, but we have to take it game per game.

“We didn't score. We were dangerous but not enough. I think we didn't do everything properly, like we usually do.

“It is a long season. We have a lot of games. This (Jablonec) game is the past now.

“We can be frustrated but we focus on Sunday. Head up and be positive.”

Albion have been on a high in recent weeks and Rutter believes an away draw, albeit when they were widely expected to win, cannot be allowed to halt that.

He said: “I think this game doesn't have to stop us.

“I think we were in good shape. We can't win every game.

“We didn't do everything right so it's a bit frustrating.

“But it's now when we can see if we be consistent and play against them better than today.”

Rutter had to battle hard physically up front and said: “We knew that was not an easy game.

“People could say it’s an easy game but it's hard to win a game like this.

“It's a bit of a cup game. So we can be frustrated but tomorrow is another day and Sunday another game.”
