Fabian Hurzeler wants to see Danny Welbeck face his old club boosted by a call for the England World Cup squad.
Albion face Manchester United on Sunday with a place in European football on the line.
Welbeck started his career at Old Trafford and has been outstanding for the Seagulls since joining as a free agent in 2020.
He broke into a United side which included their current boss Michael Carrick and is now poised for a 400th Premier League appearance.
Hurzeler will work for TalkSPORT at the summer tournament and he would love Welbeck to be one of the players he is watching.
The Albion boss said: "I think it's a sign of his professionalism, of how hard he works, of his daily work ethic, and I'm really happy for Danny for his season.
“Let's wait until tomorrow, that hopefully he will be announced for the England squad.
“Then I think he gets the rewards he deserves because of his achievements. this season and therefore, hopefully he can do it another time for us on Sunday.”
Asked for a favourite Danny Welbeck memory on the pitch, Hurzeler said: “It's difficult to point out one thing.
"For me what stands out for me is the development from him, the process he went through because, I think in the last two seasons, he scored the most goals ever.

"He played the most minutes ever in the Premier League, and therefore it shows that, even when you get older, you still have a chance that you can improve, that you can achieve things."
He believes Welbeck should be a "role model" for his perseverance and hard work.
He also praised the club's medical department, saying: "That helps him playing these kind of minutes, that helps him performing on that level."
"I still like to have that World Cup spot."
