Frank Lampard highlights City threat as Coventry's 'tricky' win assessed

CommentsSportDaniel Carter11:12, 09 Mar 2026Bristol City gave Coventry City the "threat of transition" during the Sky Blues' win at Ashton Gate, Frank Lampard has explained, whilst offering his assessment of his side's display against the Reds.

Coventry maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Championship as they ran out 2-0 winners against the Robins on Saturday afternoon. In a chaotic game, first-half goals from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Haji Wright were the difference.

Sakamoto headed the Sky Blues into the lead, against the run of play, after 37 minutes. The winger got the better of Cam Pring to nod Jay Dasilva's cross under Radek Vitek, but just six minutes later, Joel Latibeaudiere was shown a straight red card for a foul on Emil Riis.
