Chelsea press conference live as Rosenior discusses PSG, injuries, team news

Football London

There is just over 24 hours before the Blues kick off their European knockout stage in the French capital, with the Champions League holders PSG standing in their way. It is arguably the biggest match of Rosenior's tenure at Stamford Bridge thus far, in what is a repeat of last summer's Club World Cup final.

On that day in July, Chelsea raced to a 3-0 lead in New Jersey, and that is the way the final finished. PSG will be eager for revenge over the two legs, with the decisive game coming at Stamford Bridge in seven days' time.

With it being such an enormous fixture, we have plenty to get into with Rosenior, including the latest team news, the threat PSG pose, his previous battles with Luis Enrique, and much, much more. Bobby Vincent is live at Parc des Princes to bring you every word the Chelsea head coach has to say in his press conference.

A full transcript will be online shortly.

Comments18:26Bobby VincentPSG and Chelsea being so youngThey won it last year. It doesn't matter about the age, I love working with good players. I love working with this group regardless of their age. Malo told me how old he was in the car on the way here. 22 and talking about going to a World Cup with France. Not only their ability, quality or physicality but their temperament.

Comments18:24Bobby VincentA question on politics and TrumpPolitics, nice [laughs]. I didn't think anything, I was focused on the football. I was delighted for Enzo as a coach. I wasn't thinking about who was on the stage. In terms of politics, it's really sad the place we are in the world at the moment. Regardless of what you think, when people are dying, it's not a good place to be in.

Comments18:23Bobby VincentMore on Luis EnriqueI don't have too big an ego to say I don't look at other coaches and learn from them. I showed the Strasbourg players clips of PSG last year. They were magnificent at the time. I want to win tomorrow. The biggest mark of respect as a coach is when other coaches look at your game and say they like aspects of it, and it's nice because that's started to happen to me.

Comments18:21Bobby VincentEnrique and Joao Pedro incident after Club World Cup finalFor sure, if you are at the top level, the elite level, you need passion. Luis Enrique, not just as a coach, but what a player he was. He has taken that intelligence into his unbelievable managerial career. We need to have, within the limits, the passion and intensity to win this game.

Comments18:19Bobby VincentBiggest learning at ChelseaI don't look at it over the games, I look at it over the bigger picture. The next game, I always say that. I'm confident as a person, I'm even more confident in the group. It's a nice fit. I'm not just talking about these games but what we want to achieve in the long term.

Comments18:17Bobby VincentThe impact the Club World Cup has had on Chelsea and PSGIf you speak about it too much, it becomes something you don't want it to be. I've tried to manage the minutes, the training load, the intensity we show in training. The idea is to try and be as strong as possible in the crunch games. Levi is back in modified training, Jamie Gittens is back. We're working very hard on our injury load and that needs to continue.

Comments18:16Bobby VincentHow the French media treated himThe French media were incredible to me, I enjoyed my time in France. I will always hold a place for Strasbourg in my heart. I have a huge respect for French football, Ligue 1 and I thank everyone involved for giving me the experiences I have had.

Comments18:14Bobby VincentGoalkeeper situationNo, of course not [prepared to give clues]. Every decision is a difficult decision. That's the job I'm here to do. For me, the goalkeeper position is no different to the outfield position and you will see the decision I make when the team sheets come out.

Comments18:13Bobby VincentPSG and the threat they poseThey're world-class, it would be crazy not to expect anything else. They have world-class players and a world-class manager, but we do too. We have to remember it's a two-legged game, so we need to have discipline.

Comments18:09Bobby VincentHis time in FranceI had an incredible time, an incredible experience in this country. It was a fantastic experience in this country. To be back here so soon, I didn't expect it. I want to create more good memories. I want to enjoy this moment but to do that, we need to win the game.

Comments18:08Bobby VincentDid he go to Club World Cup?I visited, I watched the game against Benfica when there was a storm and delays. I managed to watch that and a few training sessions which was great at the time.

Comments18:07Bobby VincentClub World Cup finalI was in my front room back in Derby. It was a late one. It was a great game. Two fantastic teams - it was a fantastic performance from the guys but it doesn't have much relevance now.
