Coventry City verdict on club's new away strip

Coventry City’s new away kit has received a mixed reaction from fans, similar to the launch of the home strip which divided opinion with the club moving to a bold striped design and away from the traditional sky blue.

The change kit is described as off-white with navy and Monzo’s signature hot coral panels that run through the jersey and shorts to create the full look.

The away goalkeeper kit is in a vibrant bright merlot toned in with the off-white detailing, following on from the outfield away kit. Fans have been giving their first impressions of the alternative strip which will be on sale from 9am on Thursday 30th July online and at the Cov Store at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Karl Kerr: Bit boring.

Andy McGeachan: This will sound like the grumpy old man that I may be, but for me any kits most important feature should be that your teammates can see you in the corner of their eye so they can ping passes quickly. I think this one may look great in the pub but isn’t easy to see if you’re a player under pressure looking for an easy quick pass.

Garry Fawson: It’s better than the Tesco bag home strip.

Steve Mobley: Ok, burnt orange, Farm Work Dust White, everytime i wear that to an elder relations house, i can hear my mum now, “Steven, how many days you worn that, don’t you think it needs washing”

Andrew Armit: It’s a bit Luton-ish.

James Beckett: Why couldn’t the brown have been used? That would have looked mega on Match of the Day.

Billy Casper: Same as Hull’s away kit.

Andrea Hartley: Not keen but know it will grow on me.

Tommy Cashin: Absolute banger love it

Dave Cali Newton: Another iminent purchase.

David Paul: Copy Wednesday and then the away looks like a Luton kit. Not for me this year.

Malc Sweet: City gone for the cheaper options this year, Sheffield Wednesday copy for home kit, & Luton copy for away kit, even ditched the full colour logo for the away kit.

June Arnold: I like it, much easier on the eyes than last seasons coral one.

Fran Moran: The orange/coral stripe ruins it.

Keith Catlow: Not impressed with either kit this season, Money staying in the bank, maybe 3rd kit will be a belter.

Anthony Harries: It’s alright not saying its great just alright.

Mark Curtis: Hummel has had some great designs but this year Not up there. Average.

Lee Ricketts: Nope, don’t like it all. Seems that very little imagination or effort has gone into our first PL kits in 25 years. Looks like a half-arsed Nationwide league 3rd kit.

Tim Russell: Not as bad as the home but still a big disappointment. Expected better for our return to the Prem.

Eddie Mcnulty: Bit bland.

Mick Fleming: Won’t be paying 70/80 sheets for home or away tops, hummel not good this year.

Mark Harridge: Would look better with navy shorts but it’s good.

Angie Marie: Love it.
