Graham Potter makes Derby goalkeeper call as Sweden secure big World Cup win

Derby Telegraph · Leigh Curtis

Derby's number one had been hoping to secure the number one jersey after being selected for the squad and starting a warm-up game against Norway in the build-up to the tournament.

But Kristoffer Nordfeldt of AIK was handed the gloves by former Chelsea boss Potter, with Zetterstrom and Stoke City's Viktor Johansson both among the substitutes.

They watched as Sweden made a convincing start to their group against Tunisia who had progressed through qualification without shipping a single goal.

But they found themselves trailing within seven minutes when Yasin Ayari – whose mother is Tunisian though he chose to represent his birthplace – hammered home from distance.

Elias Saad testedNordfeldt at the opposite end, though Sweden extended their lead shortly before the half-hour mark when a swift counter-attack ended with Alexander Isak cutting inside from 20 yards out and firing into the corner.

Omar Rekik did give Tunisia brief hope when he nodded home a cross from Hannibal Mejbri but Sweden restored their two-goal margin approaching the hour mark when Isak punished a mistake by Ellyes Skhiri in possession before teeing up Viktor Gyokeres.
