Derby ace makes Haaland request as superstar responds to Sondre Langas return

Sondre Langas has returned to Derby County training after his World Cup exertions with Norway - and got a thumbs up from international team-mate Erling Haaland in the process.

Langas has been on duty with his country at this summer's tournament before they were eventually knocked out by England in the quarter-finals.

The centre-back was given extra time off due to his time in America, but he has linked up with Derby for their pre-season camp in Austria.

Derby posted on their Instagram account of Langas' return which led to Manchester City star Haaland responding with a thumbs up emoji, saying: "Langdrid, What a vacation! Long!"

That prompted a string of responses, including one from Derby defender Dion Sanderson, which simply asked, "fancy signing?"

Langas was the last player to return from World Cup duty with Jacob Widell Zetterstrom also back with the Derby squad after his time with Sweden in the US and Mexico.

Derby are in Austria for their pre-season camp which will end with a friendly against Europa League finalists Freiburg on Friday.

Ryan Hedges, training with the club after his exit from Blackburn, is with the squad and could feature after playing the majority of the first half in the opening friendly win over Alfreton.

When Derby return from Austria they will then face a double friendly against Mansfield and Burton Albion. They will also play Rotherham in the build-up to the new season.

The transfer window is now open, the signings are being linked and players could be heading for the exit door at Pride Park as it promises to be a pre-season of change at the club.
