Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium launches 'unique' £30 experience

Running from Saturday, August 29 to Monday, August 31, the event will offer families and film lovers the chance to enjoy a unique open-air cinema experience from the comfort of their own vehicle. Films will be shown on a giant LED screen overlooking the River Mersey on the stadium footprint.

As the sun sets over the waterfront, guests can tune into the film audio through their car radio via FM transmitter while enjoying a line-up featuring family favourites, iconic musicals, classic comedy and a special Everton screening.

Aaron Duckmanton, Chief Revenue Officer at Everton Football Club, said: “Movies on the Mersey is another exciting first for Hill Dickinson Stadium and a brilliant way for people to experience the venue in a completely different setting.

“We wanted to create something that feels accessible, fun and memorable for families, supporters and visitors to the city during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

“The film programme offers something for everyone, from family films and musical classics to a special Everton screening of Howard’s Way in support of Everton in the Community.

“To be able to bring people together on the waterfront for a new family-friendly event, while also supporting Everton in the Community, makes this a really special addition to our summer events programme.”

The weekend begins on Saturday August 29 with Disney-Pixar’s Finding Nemo at 6pm, followed by the feel-good musical Mamma Mia! at 9pm.

On Sunday August 30, Grease takes to the big screen at 6pm, before the beloved time-travelling adventure Back to the Future rounds off the evening with a 9pm screening.

Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday screenings are £30 per vehicle, regardless of the number of occupants (within the vehicle's legal seating capacity). Each ticket includes entry to the stadium footprint, a designated parking space with a clear view of the screen, and in-car audio via FM transmitter.

The weekend concludes on Bank Holiday Monday with a special 7.30pm screening of Howard’s Way. Entry will operate on a pay-what-you-want basis, with all donations supporting the life-changing work of Everton in the Community.

Places for the Monday screening must still be booked in advance, with further details available via the ticket link below.

For those wishing to attend without a vehicle, a dedicated lawn area will also be available, with guests able to bring their own chair. Admission to the lawn area is priced at £15 per person.
