Everton manager David Moyes lands new job and will join former Liverpool star

The 63-year-old, now in his second spell as Blues boss, after steering the club to nine top-eight finishes, including their highest-ever Premier League position of fourth in his first tenure, is one of only three managers to have accumulated over a thousand points in the competition, after multiple title winners Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United and Arsene Wenger of Arsenal.

TalkSPORT made the announcement on Thursday morning with a statement that read: “David Moyes joins talkSPORT for the World Cup!

“The current Everton boss has had a legendary managerial career spanning 28 years… now the proud Scotsman will be joining the team for our 2026 World Cup coverage. Welcome to the line-up, David.”

As well as snapping up the Premier League’s elder statesman in Moyes, talkSPORT have also hired the division’s youngest manager in Fabian Hurzeler of Brighton & Hove Albion, with the German his junior by almost 30 years
