Former manager Phil Brown believes Hull City's race to move out players before the end of June can be a positive for Sergej Jakirovic in his preparations for the Premier League.
City need to free up finance over the next couple of weeks to ensure they remain on the right side of the EFL's Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules, with owner Acun Ilicali confirming on Friday that the Tigers were working to try and move out fringe players.
Clubs need to submit their accounts for the last three-year period, and the Tigers are trying to move out their fringe players to ensure they're not hit with any punishment.
Brown, who famously guided the Tigers to promotion at Wembley in 2008, believes it's actually a handy problem to have for City, who will be looking to make changes to their promotion-winning squad to prepare for life in the top flight.
"It actually makes things easier if truth be known," Brown said on the latest episode of the 1904 Club podcast. "Everyone talked about the final and how much it was worth, the £200m final, and that money will be coming in. There will be deadlines when that money does come in, but you can always spend the money on the back of the fact you know it's coming in.
"On the same page, you can actually use that reason of getting rid of players and getting players out of the football club, and it could make the manager's job quite easy, or easier, shall we say? It can't be quite easy; it could be easier."
