Jakirovic was nominated alongside Millwall's Alex Neil and Middlesbrough's Kim Hellberg, but the crown understandably went to Lampard, who guided the Sky Blues back to the Premier League after a 25-year absence.
Coventry claimed the point they needed on Friday night at struggling Blackburn Rovers to clinch promotion, and will now set their sights on winning the title.

Simply being nominated shows what a terrific job Jakirovic has done this season at City, his first in Engish football. The Tigers sit sixth in the Championship, two points clear of seventh with just three games to go.
While their form in recent weeks has seen their advantage cut from seven points down to two, the Tigers remain in a strong position ahead of Tuesday night's trip to Leicester City.
Victory at the King Power Stadium would strengthen their hold on the final play-off place with only two games to go, but it would also relegate the Foxes back to League One, a decade after winning the Premier League title.
"It's a big honour for me in my first season in the Championship," Jakirovic told Hull Live ahead of Sunday's ceremony in the capital.
"We spoke, if you remember, in my first press conference when I said it's still football when I was asked how I will adapt to this competition. I think that I adapted good and I know much more now than when I arrived in the club, and for example, for the next season I know exactly what we need. I mean, players and everything, it's huge.
"Being in this company, such a competitive environment. Every coach here is doing a great job. It's not easy, it depends on the budget, depends on the injured players and everything, so it's a big honour for me."
