Hull City confirm Premier League sponsor as Acun Ilicali makes pledge

Owner Acun Ilicali says it's only right that Corendon Airlines is rewarded for its backing in recent years by continuing as Hull City's shirt sponsor in the Premier League after the club renewed its agreement until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.

City have now confirmed the airline will remain on the front of the Tigers' shirts this season and will continue the partnership that began in the summer of 2022, when they became the club's first-ever travel partner.

Following the decision to ban betting firms on the front of shirts in the top flight, as it stands, City are just one of three clubs with airlines as their main sponsor, along with champions Arsenal (Emirates) and runners-up Manchester City (Etihad).

Since the pair came together, hundreds of fans have been whisked away to Turkey on free holidays, both during pre-season and at other times of the year.

An agreement was struck 12 months ago to extend their agreement by two more years, and City had considered bringing in a more lucrative sponsor following promotion, but Ilicali says he wanted to keep faith with Corendon, who will see their name splashed across the Tigers' brand new Oxen Sports kits.

"That's so important for me that they will continue with us," the Turkish businessman told Hull Live. "When it came to Premier League times, starting after May 23, of course, we had some offers from Turkey and from England, but I think Corendon deserved to be on our shirt because they were with us in the tough times when we had the relegation possibilities.

"They were still pushing, and they were always supporting us. Their money, I think, at that time was so valuable to me. I gave up on bigger budgets and wanted to go with Corendon because I think it's time for them to get back what they deserve."

Any fans who have already bought their home strip can visit Tiger Leisure to have Corendon's name added to the shirt free of charge.
