Learn moreLeicester City have a sell-on clause in Bilal El Khannouss’s deal with the attacking midfielder’s permanent move to Stuttgart now certain to go through.
El Khannouss’s loan switch to the German side last summer was always expected to become permanent, with an obligation to buy written into the deal if the Moroccan met easily-attainable clauses.
Bild in Germany now report that those appearance clauses have been reached and so El Khannouss’s transfer will be confirmed in the summer.
It’s reported that the deal will go through at €18m (£15.5m), adding to the €3.5m (£3m) Stuttgart paid for the loan.

There are bonuses in the deal too and the initial suggestion was that the transfer could rise to €30m (£26m), ensuring City made a profit on a player they bought for £20m from Genk in 2024.
But crucially, Bild report that City have a sell-on clause in the transfer, meaning they could get a further payment in the future should El Khannouss continue his rise and earn an even bigger move.
The 21-year-old has been a big hit in Germany, helping Stuttgart to what looks like being a very good season.
El Khannouss has eight goals and four assists in 30 matches so far. He scored twice against Celtic recently to help the club into the Europa League last 16, with the first leg against Porto on Thursday night.
In the Bundesliga, Stuttgart have only lost one of their last 12, putting them fourth in the table and in the race for a Champions League spot.
They’re also into the semi-finals of the German Cup, a competition they won last season.
