Andoni Iraola's first port of call may be a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has already confirmed his departure and will take some replacing.

One man who could fill that roll is Yan Diomande. The Ivorian winger impressed in his country's World Cup opener and has plenty of potential suitors, though RB Leipzig will no doubt demand a significant fee.

Other areas of concern for Iraola include midfield, where reinforcements are likely to be needed regardless of whether the Reds end up hanging on to Curtis Jones. We'll have all the latest Liverpool transfer news for you throughout the day - don't go anywhere else for your updates.

CommentsChris BurnsToday11:29 BSTLiverpool to swoop for former player? (no, not that one)Former Reds goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher could be an option for the club in a post-Alisson world. The Republic of Ireland star left the Reds for Brentford in June 2025 after ten years at Anfield.

The Athletic have reported that while "there was no buyback clause in the deal" which took him to the Bees, the shotstopper could be an appealing option for the Reds in the future if he continues his purple patch in west London.

The report adds that "finding a full-time replacement for Alisson is going to be tough," when the Brazilian leaves, but Kelleher has already demonstrated he has what it takes to succeed at the Reds. With the future of Reds keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili uncertain as it stands, this could be one to keep an eye on.

Liverpool are said to have watched the 17-year-old Anderlecht midfielder earlier this season. Reports suggest that Arsenal and Tottenham are eager to get their claws into the young talent.

The Belgian international, who would would be catnip for headline writers, has one cap for his country and is also thought to have caught the attention of Manchester City and Chelsea.

De Cat is contracted to his club until next summer and he's been quoted at around £30million. It's also believed Brighton tested the waters with a £15m bid in February.

CommentsChris BurnsToday09:30 BSTLiverpool to pull of an unthinkable transfer?Liverpool should put historic rivalry to one side and go and sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United this summer, according to ex-Kop star David James.

Rashford, 28, spent last season on loan with Barcelona, where he finished the campaign as a LaLiga champion with eight league goals to his name.

However, a clause in Rashford's United contract states that the Red Devils will listen to offers from any club that triggers a £40m transfer bid, except for Liverpool and Manchester City. Read more about the current state of play with Rashford and what James had to say here.

A reunion with Iraola, who brought him to the Vitality Stadium, has been floated.

However, might the Reds want to wait to give the youngster more time to settle into life in England?

CommentsChris BurnsToday08:20 BSTAlexis Mac Allister's dad steps in over midfielder's futureAlexis Mac Allister didn't enjoy a typically vintage campaign with Liverpool last season. While he's under contract until 2028, there have been rumblings of a departure this summer. However, speaking to WinWin ahead of Argentina's win over Algeria last night, Carlos Mac Allister insisted his son's future would not be sorted until after the tournament.

CommentsChris BurnsToday08:13 BSTAlexander Isak tipped to return to formIt's fair to say that £125m Alexander Isak is yet to reach the heights at Anfield.

However, Isak looked razor sharp in Sweden's 5-1 win over Tunisia in their opening match of the tournament in Monterrey on Monday, scoring once and providing two assists.

Veteran Premier League boss Sam Allardyce believes the former Newcastle striker could become "a major force" for the Reds. Read more about Isak's blistering return to form at the World Cup here.

CommentsChris BurnsToday08:08 BSTInter readying 'final' Jones bidInter Milan will make one final bid in an effort to land Curtis Jones, according to reports in Italy.

The Italian club have so far fallen short of Liverpool's asking price for the England international midfielder.

However, with Jones out of contract next summer, they know a free transfer in 2027 remains possible if they decide to walk away now.

CommentsTom VictorToday08:01 BSTBradley Barcola messageOne player who has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer is PSG star Bradley Barcola.

The 23-year-old came on as a late substitute during France's 3-1 win over Senegal at the World Cup on Tuesday and made an instant impact.

Barcola scored within two minutes of arriving onto the pitch to put France 2-1 ahead, a position from which they then extended their lead in injury time.

A message to Andoni Iraola and other potential suitors if ever there was one.

CommentsNick MurphyToday07:58 BSTWhen will Mo Salah decide his next move?As we all know, Mohamed Salah confirmed last season that he would leave Liverpool before the expiry of the two-year contract he signed in 2025.

The Egyptian has yet to decide his next move but there is reported interest from Europe and beyond.

For now, though, he may want to focus on international matters after his national team drew with Belgium to increase their chances of reaching the World Cup knockout stages.

CommentsTom VictorToday07:58 BSTQuansah with a chance to show his worthOne of the defensive moves being floated is a return for Jarell Quansah.

Liverpool are understood to have included a buy-back option when selling the defender to Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

The centre-back appears to also be thought of as full-back cover by England boss Thomas Tuchel and could have a part to play when the Three Lions take on Croatia in their World Cup opener tonight.
