
On the 37th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, Everton unveiled its permanent tribute at its new home to the 97 football fans who were unlawfully killed on April 15, 1989.
Everton CEO Angus Kinnear was joined by representatives of the Hillsborough families, Margaret Aspinall, Sue Roberts, Charlotte Hennessey and Stephen Kelly, as wreaths were laid at the memorial.
Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush laid floral tributes on behalf of Liverpool FC, watched by Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan and senior vice-president of communications Craig Evans.
Everton Giant Graeme Sharp was joined by club ambassadors Ian Snodin and Graham Stuart in also laying flowers, watched by technical director Nick Cox and president of business operations Andrew Middleton.
They were followed by Liverpool City Region Mayor of Liverpool Steve Rotheram, who was central to the establishment of the Hillsborough Independent Panel.
