Liverpool title winner Glenn Hysen shares tragic Parkinson's diagnosis aged 66

Over the course of three years at Anfield between 1989 and 1992, he made 72 league appearances for the Reds. In the 1989-90 campaign, he helped Liverpool win the Football League First Division title.

That was the last league triumph in the Reds' history until Jurgen Klopp broke the 30-year duck in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.

Hysen also stated his body is not expected to deteriorate too significantly as a result of the disease because his version can be treated by medication.

While the news comes as a major blow, particularly for his wife Camilla Lendot and his two children Tobias Hysen and Anton Hysen, he is trying to keep his own spirits high.

Hysen added: "I’m not the kind of person who digs deep into things. I have no problem with it, it’s not a big deal. I could probably work in a bar now and shake a drink. I won't get any worse either.

"There are certain situations where you get a little nervous. If there are a lot of people around, I shake a little, but otherwise it’s calm.”

In total, he made 93 appearances for the Reds throughout his whole time at Anfield. He also managed to contribute three goals and four assists during his time at the club.

As well as Liverpool, he also features in the top flight for PSV Eindhoven, Fiorentina and his hometown side FK Goteborg, where he won two UEFA Cups (now the Europa League).

He also made 69 international caps for Sweden, scoring nine goals for his country.
