Alexander Isak shows true colours as star's Liverpool transfer feelings clear

Liverpool make the brief trip to face Everton on Sunday (2pm kick-off) for their inaugural visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Reds can narrow the gap to the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa after bouncing back to winning ways last time out against Fulham.

This summer appears set to be a pivotal one for Liverpool as they prepare for another rebuild with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson departing.

The ECHO has compiled the latest news surrounding Liverpool.

Alexander Isak believes he is moving closer to peak form as he offered support to injured teammate Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman sustained a ruptured Achilles during the midweek Champions League elimination by PSG. It marked the first start for the Swedish striker since he fractured his leg against Tottenham Hotspur in December.

"Obviously I was out for a long time and I've been working hard to get back," he said. "That's pretty much every rehab - some are a bit more complicated than others. But it was a difficult injury and it took a lot of hard work and long days to get here.

"I'm very happy to be back out there. I mean it's never easy being out for a long time.

"But I feel like I'm getting there and hopefully we can get the results as well.

"Obviously we're all gutted for [Ekitike's] injury," Isak continued. "It's very unfortunate for him and for the team as well. We're all behind him, supporting him."

Former Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has revealed that he is enjoying football once more following his switch to Bayer Leverkusen.

The England international experienced an inconsistent final campaign at Anfield before finalising his transfer to the Bundesliga. Quansah struggled to secure regular minutes on Merseyside as he was unable to establish himself as a starter under Slot.

He said: "I've really loved it, to be honest. It's been refreshing for me. I've started loving football again, being able to play week in, week out against some of the best teams in the world, showing what I'm capable of, what I can give to this team and to the fans as well. I've really enjoyed it so far.

"It's never easy moving to a different country. I think coming from the pressure of being at Liverpool, it's not easy to come away from such a big club and try to build your own career off the back of being at one place for 17 years.

"It's never easy, but I'm happy it's gone well so far."

Sky broadcasts more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more with at least 215 live from the top flight alongside Formula 1, darts and golf.
