Manchester City's Tijjani Reijnders meets cocktail bar team during Asia visit

The Blues are currently on a pre-season Asian tour, which has so far included the men’s first team travel to Hong Kong for the first time since 2019 and also an appearance at the Hong Kong Football Festival with a match against Inter Milan.

The club’s tour is currently in South Korea following their first win under the watch of new manager Enzo Maresca on Wednesday (August 5) as they scored 3-1 against the K-League All Stars in Seoul.

Ahead of a match against Atletico Madrid at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sunday (August 9), the club has set up shop in the South Korean capital where they are meeting fans ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.

During the tour, the football team has opened a special Man City House in Seongsu-dong until Sunday as part of a partnership with PUMA. The house has been hailed as an ‘unique space where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Manchester City’ with special events, collaborations and special guest appearances.

There is a nail bar where fans personalise their look with City-inspired nail art, a cafe, pop-ups from Seoul Community Radio and a special appearance from Manchester cocktail bar Schofield’s, which was named the best in the UK on the Top 50 Cocktails Bar list in both 2024 and 2025.

Run by brothers Joe and Daniel Schofield, the bar has taken up residency at the Manc City House experience where they have curated a special range of cocktails and mocktails for the occasion. In a post on social media this week, Joe and Daniel were also greeted by a visit from midfielder Tijjani Reijnders who helped prepare his own mocktail.

The Dutch player joined City on a five-year contract last year and has quickly gone on to become a valuable member of the team. Back in March, the squad won the Carabao Cup after beating Arsenal 2-0 in the final.

Sharing the encounter on social media, Schofield’s posted a photo of the footballer with owner Joe alongside the caption: “Manchester City & SCHOFIELD’S BAR. We’ve had an incredible time so far in South Korea making drinks at the @mancity hub, Man City House. What an honour to champion Manchester on the other side of the world!”

Fans of both City and Schofield's shared in their delight of the meet-up. One person said: "Love to see this!" Another said: "This is so good." Another person threw some light-hearted shade their way over their choice of team by saying: "Great bar, questionable loyalty". Schofield's responded to clarify: "We support football, and unity."

Schofield’s first opened in Manchester’s Sunlight House, on Little Quay Street, back in April 2021 and has continued to win big praise and awards ever since. It has previously topped the list of the annual Class magazine awards in London, and also took home the award for best bar at the Manchester Food & Drink Awards in 2024.
