After that, the attention will then turn towards the summer transfer window, where Eddie Howe and the St James’ Park hierarchy may already have plans in place for the potential new signings.

It remains to be seen what business Newcastle will look to conduct in the summer window, with a host of players already being linked with a move to Tyneside.

Here, Chronicle Live takes a look at some of the latest Newcastle news and transfer gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.

It has been reported by The Times that the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) are prepared to sell a portion of their ownership stake at Newcastle.

The report claims that PIF are weighing up whether to sell a 25% stake in their ownership of the club, but would still look to be the majority shareholder at St James’ Park.

The update comes after PIF announced earlier this month that they would be withdrawing funding from LIV Golf at the end of the 2026 season.

It has been claimed that the sale of the ownership stake would help go towards funding a new £200million training ground in Woolsington, with talks also expected to take place over a new stadium.

Newcastle are reportedly joining a host of Premier League clubs expressing an interest in signing Hoffenheim star Bazoumana Toure.

According to Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger, the Magpies are ‘very interested’ in signing the 20-year-old forward, as are Europa League winners Aston Villa.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Brighton are also mentioned in the report as showing an interest in Toure, who is said to be valued at around €50million (£43million).

Toure has scored five goals for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this season, as well as racking up 12 assists in the German top flight, which has led to rumours about his future and speculation that a move this summer could be on the cards.
