Five to follow in City

Eastern Daily Press · By Paddy Davitt

Norwich City’s hunt for a wide player looks set to be a key part of the club’s summer transfer window strategy.

Philippe Clement underlined his coaching prowess to guide the Canaries comfortably inside the Championship's top 10, despite an enduring run of injuries.

But it was a feat achieved with all manner of different options tried in wider areas, from Liam Gibbs to even captain Kenny McLean deployed on the right of the attacking three in the closing weeks of the campaign.

The Pinkun picks out five options, heading into the summer market, who could fit the bill in Clement's drive to add targeted quality.

Largie Ramazani (Leeds, spent 2025/26 on loan at Valencia)

Can operate on either flank. A Belgian Under-21 international who had eight goal contributions in 29 Championship appearances for Leeds when they won the title in 2024/25 - including an equaliser in a 1-1 Carrow Road draw.

Spent the past season on loan at Valencia to gain top flight experience, a league where he was signed for a reported £10m from Almeria.

Returned seven goal contributions in 26 appearances at the Mestalla. But with Leeds' chief Daniel Farke now publicly demanding an ambitious level of backing in the upcoming summer window, to build on a successful first top flight season under the German at Elland Road, hard to see a return for Ramazani fitting that bill.

There is no buy option in Valencia’s season long loan but given the 25-year-old is under contract until 2028, with a further one year club option, it would be reasonable to assume Leeds would expect to recoup most of their initial outlay. But clearly the type of potential quality signing with Championship experience who would be ready to plug in and play.

Kareem Tunde (Levante)

Staying in the Spanish league, where City are believed to have undertaken plenty of recruitment analysis work in recent windows, Tunde is a 20-year-old right winger who spent time in Barcelona’s fabled La Masia youth academy. Only made his full Levante debut in January 2026, but went on to clock up more than 1,000 playing minutes in La Liga over the past five months of the season.

A far more eyecatching statistic is 31 successful dribbles to his name, and a willingness to cut inside onto his favoured left foot.

In that respect you can see parallels with how Papa Amadou Diallo operates on the opposite flank, a player and profile that would appear a good fit for Clement’s preferred attacking shape in the final third. Tunde is under contract at Levante until 2029.

Might be one to file more in the ‘project’ category in the shorter term, but a player making quick strides in his senior career with a high transfer ceiling.

Shea Lacey (Manchester United)

Highly-rated teenager who was reportedly in the sights of Celtic on a short term loan deal in January, but remained at Old Trafford. Did not add to two brief Premier League appearances, and an FA Cup third round cameo at Brighton, around the turn of the year, however, and would seem likely to be available on loan for the upcoming season.

England youth international right up to Under-20 level. Liverpool born but part of United’s academy from an early age. Stylistically another exciting, left-footed dribbler with a reputation for high quality set piece delivery. Posted 14 goal contributions in 14 Premier League Two appearances for United’s development squad this past season.

City successfully opened up a loan channel to recruit fellow United talent, Harry Amass, before injury curtailed the left-back’s short term switch in January 2026. Apart from the inevitable competition for Lacey’s services there might be the same possible late summer availability issue for any of the Reds’ best young talent, in a World Cup cycle that will impact United’s own pre-season plans.

Ichem Ferrah (Lille, spent 2025/26 on loan at Cambuur)

City’s 'interest' revealed by the same reputable source that previously flagged last summer’s move for Diallo. Again, the French market is one of particular interest for the Canaries’ data-driven modelling in terms of value.

Ferrah has just enjoyed a breakout season on loan at newly-promoted Dutch Eerste Divisie club, Cambuur. The 20-year-old’s 18 goal contributions in 35 league appearances earned him the ‘talent of the season’ award and reported interest from Copenhagen, Malmö, Genk, Gent and Dutch giants, Feyenoord in addition to the Canaries.

Perhaps the biggest factor in what next for Ferrah is less the inevitable interest around Europe, and what the plan is from his parent club, Lille. The Ligue 1 outfit will be playing Champions League football in 2026/27.

Too big a leap one would suspect from the second tier in the Netherlands. Ferrah is also approaching the final 12 months of his current deal, which would indicate the power resides more with suitors than the seller.

Farès Ghedjemis (Frosinone)

Listed in Algeria’s provisional World Cup squad, and if he was to make the final cut that would no doubt be reflected in his transfer value this summer.

A weighty 18 goal contributions in 37 Serie B appearances for Italian club Frosinone. Celtic reportedly opened talks in January 2026 regarding a £6.5m move that stalled over the payment structure.

Contract runs until 2028 but the 23-year-old ‘classic winger’ is already being compared to compatriot and former Premier League title winner Riyad Mahrez for his movement, dribbling, and shooting ability from wide positions.
