Every player linked with Nottingham Forest ahead of big transfer window

Nottingham Post · Sarah Clapson

The Reds do not want to find themselves in a relegation battle again when the 2026/27 season comes around, so there is plenty riding on getting their transfer business right. Pereira believes only a few tweaks are required, but some incomings and outgoings are still to be expected.

There is one more game of the campaign to go, but there has already been plenty of talk about potential targets. NottinghamshireLive rounds up the players to have been linked with moves to the City Ground …

Maxime Esteve: Forest have reportedly made contact regarding a potential deal for the Burnley defender, who is expected to leave Turf Moor this summer. Everton and Bournemouth are said to have also made their interest known, while Bayer Leverkusen are keen.

Jacques Ekomie: The Angers left-back is a man in demand. Forest have been credited with an interest, along with Coventry City, German sides Hamburg and Schalke 04 and Spanish outfit Villarreal. French club Strasbourg, however, have already shown their hand by initiating talks - which are said to be “progressing very well”.

Leonardo Balerdi: The Argentine centre-back has reportedly expressed a desire to leave Marseille this summer. Juventus, Roma and Atletico Madrid also count as his admirers amid talk of a €20-25 million (£17-21.5m) price tag.

Mathias Olivera: A player who caught Forest’s eye earlier this year, it seems he remains on their radar ahead of the summer. During the winter window, it was claimed the Reds made “in-depth enquiries” about the Napoli full-back. Reports since have suggested talks have once again taken place, ahead of the summer.

Gabriel Mec: The Brazilian teenager can operate as a left winger or attacking midfielder and has been compared to Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior. He has a long list of clubs eyeing him up from Gremio, and the Reds are said to be among them.

Marshall Munetsi: Earlier this year a report suggested the summer could potentially see a reunion between Pereira and the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder. Munetsi spent the second half of this season on loan at Paris FC and there is a question mark over what the future holds.

Davide Frattesi: A name that has done the rounds for some time, it appears the Inter Milan midfielder could be available for a bargain price this summer. Forest were said to have failed with a £30m offer in January, but his valuation has reportedly taken a hit since.

Honest Ahanor: Linked with a switch to the City Ground midway through the campaign, the defender reportedly remains of interest to the Reds. However, the teenager has impressed at Atalanta and is not short of suitors as the summer approaches.

Isaque: Valued at somewhere in the region of £26m - more than triple the £8.5m Shakhtar Donetsk paid for him 12 months ago - the attacking midfielder has attracted plenty of attention. Forest would likely have to battle with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Fulham, Bournemouth, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma and AC Milan for the youngster.

Hayden Hackney: A long-term target. Talk of the Reds being keen on the Middlesbrough midfielder has done the rounds for years. They reportedly had a deadline day approach rebuffed during the winter window and have been tipped to try their luck again this summer. Boro are said to want a minimum of £20m for one of their main men.
