Champions of the Premier League 10 years ago, the Foxes are currently priced at 5/2 to win the League One title, ahead of Sheffield Wednesday on 7/1.
Wednesday are under new ownership after a disastrous period on and off the pitch for the South Yorkshire club but, like Leicester, should be a challenging at the top of the third tier in 2026/27.
Luton Town are the third favourites to win the League One title on 9/1, followed by the quartet of Argyle, Huddersfield, Oxford and Stockport.
Next come Bradford City, who were beaten by Bolton in the League One play-off semi-finals last month, on odds of 14/1, with 20255/26 League Two runners-up MK Dons on 16/1.
Blackpool and Wycombe Wanderers, who have signed Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Conor Hazard from Argyle, are both priced at 18/1.
Barnsley and Wigan Athletic are next in the betting market at 28/1, followed Doncaster Rovers, Mansfield Town, Notts County and Stevenage on 33/1 and Peterborough United at 40/1.
The trio of Burton Albion, Cambridge United and Leyton Orient are all priced at 66/1, with AFC Wimbledon on 100/1 and League Two champions Bromley at 150/1.
Argyle are priced at 9/2 with Sky Bet to be promoted from League One next season, with Leicester odds on at 8/11 to return to the Championship, while Wednesday are 9/4 and Luton 3/1.
The League One campaign will begin on the weekend of August 15/16. The 2026/27 fixtures will be revealed on Thursday, June 25, with Argyle starting pre-season training the following Monday.
