Kemper injury does not appear to be serious - West London Sport

West London Sport · David McIntyre

Julien Stephan seemed optimistic that Boy Kemper will be available for next weekend’s trip to Southampton despite the left-back going off during QPR’s 5-0 thrashing of Swansea.

Kemper has impressed since recently returning from an ankle injury he suffered on his debut, against Portsmouth on the opening day of the season.

But he hobbled off late in the game at Loftus Road, where Richard Kone scored a hat-trick inside 15 minutes.

Head coach Stephan, though, suggested an initial assessment had indicated that Kemper’s injury is not a cause for alarm.

Stephan said: “A knock – probably perhaps two or three or four days. I hope it will be OK for Southampton.

“(Medical staff) didn’t tell me that the ankle twisted completely. He’ll have to be assessed in the next 48 hours to know exactly.”
