Saints supporters have expressed their confidence in Tonda Eckert's men ahead of the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Southampton are set to face Manchester City on Saturday, April 25, at 5.15pm, after defeating Arsenal in the quarter finals.

This will be the first time Saints play under the famous arch since they won promotion from the Championship via the play-offs in 2024.

Spirits were running high outside of St Mary’s on Tuesday, as Saints faced Bristol City in their last match before the weekend, with fans sharing their messages of support.

Carol Sperrin and her husband Mark have been season ticket holders for 15 years and are heading to Wembley as part of the Saints fans taking up the 35,750 allocation.

Carol said: “To go to the semi-finals means absolutely everything, before the next step obviously is the finals, we’ll be there and then.

“This means everything. After last season and the beginning of this season, it was painful. After 50 years it will be incredible, what a time to do it, it’s meant to be.

“I came down as a kid, we didn’t go down to Wembley, but we watched them come back on the coach and everything.”

June Jones, 70, said: “I think we’re going to win it, I said all along we would beat Coventry, I said we’d beat Arsenal every time.

“We’ve got every chance of beating Manchester City.

“It felt brilliant watching the quarter finals. I was at the 1976 cup, I was there, I was only 20, so I’m hoping it will be our cup this year, it’s in the stars.”

Harry Edwards, 14, has been a Saints fan since he was born.

He said: “We’ve done pretty well. Considering last season and how we played, we’ve done a pretty good job this season.

“It’s a pretty good achievement to see the team go to, as a championship side club with a poorly started season, we’ve done pretty well.

Michelle Edwards, his mum, added: “It was pretty emotional when we beat Arsenal, I mean we all cried.”

Paul Harris is one of the supporters going to Wembley to cheer the team on this weekend.

He said: “Seeing the team get so far is fantastic. I remember 1976 as well, but it’s really good, and with the twin thing of the league, I mean what a better way to end the season.

“Who would have thought so if you looked at what happened in the first few games of the season when we were playing so poorly.

“It’s just amazing to see that turnaround, I mean all credit to Eckert and the boys.

“This weekend I think there will be nerves, because I think only one in the team will have played at Wembley before, possibly two, it will be a big occasion for them.

“I just hope the 36,000 who are going to be there, including me, are just going to support them and bring them on.”
