SAINTS have been snubbed by the EFL as no player was selected for the Championship Team of the Season.

The EFL confirmed their best XI for the 2025/26 Championship season at their end-of-season awards night on Sunday evening.

There was no Saints name included in that team, despite the St Mary's outfit still being in contention to earn automatic promotion.

League leaders Coventry dominated the selection with four players - Carl Rushworth, Milan van Ewijk, Matt Grimes and Haji Wright - picked.

Top-scoring defenders Taylor Harwood-Bellis (six goals) and Ryan Manning (seven goals) did not make the cut in defence.

Stoke's Sorba Thomas got in ahead of Saints ace Leo Scienza, while Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney was picked alongside Grimes in midfield.

Shea Charles was the only Saints name shortlisted for an award on the evening, but lost the Goal of the Season award to Swansea's Josh Tymon.

Saints academy graduate Dom Ballard won both League One's Young Player of the Season and Player of the Season awards.
