Ex-Chelsea goalkeeper tells Southampton FC to 'shut out the noise' | Daily Echo

Saints started the new Championship campaign on minus four points after being kicked out of the play-off final last season for spying.

Begovic, who played for the likes of Chelsea, Bournemouth, Stoke City and Leicester City, as well as having a spell at arch-rivals Portsmouth, is backing Tonda Eckert's side to be in the mix once again.

"Southampton are one of the best teams in the Championship, without a doubt," Begovic told Hajper.

"When you consider the playing squad and the talent they have, it’s really impressive, they have match-winners everywhere.

"Even with the players they’ve lost, they’ve replaced them well.

"They have done some really good business and have match-winners like Leo Scienza, Finn Azaz, and Cyle Larin, who can change a game at any point. Those are the guys they will look toward to make the difference.
