Saints Women boss Parker rues missed chances again in Leicester City draw

Daily Echo · By Dan Hargraves

Former Saints loanee Araya Dennis opened the scoring for the Foxes after just three minutes before a Freya Jupp brace put Parker's side ahead.

The visitors had numerous chances to extend their lead at the King Power Stadium, failing to do so before Alisha Lehmann's 88th minute equaliser.

It's not the first time this season where failing to be clinical has cost Saints points.

"We're really disappointed with the result because we created enough chances to score more," Parker said.

"Second half, Ellie [Brazil]'s hit the woodwork, Bashy [Mary Bashford]'s hit the woodwork.

"Then we had shots from outside the box where we're just putting them over or wide. And then Abbie [Ferguson]'s had a chance at the end.

"We just should have won that game so we're really disappointed and I think we probably conceded only a few chances in terms of shots for Grace [Moloney] to deal with and it's 2-2."

The draw leaves Saints sixth in WSL2 with seven points from six matches.

They will face Leicester once again this Sunday at home in the Subway Players Cup.
