Preston issue statement warning fans not to abuse own team ahead of Saints clash

Daily Echo · By Alfie House

The Lilywhites have called for supporters to report any incidents of abuse at Deepdale, warning that those responsible will face appropriate action.

The statement comes during a difficult start to the Championship campaign, with Preston bottom of the table with just five points from 14 matches.

They will host an in-form Saints side looking to close the gap on the top two, with Preston urging supporters to continue backing the team.

A statement said: "PNE reminds everyone that abuse of players, staff, and personnel working at Deepdale is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“Personal abuse has no place in football or wider society, and anyone found to be engaging in such behaviour will face appropriate action.

“Everyone at the club understands the frustration felt from supporters during this period, and we are all fighting to turn the season around.

“If you hear or witness abuse at any Preston fixture, report it to your nearest steward or a member of the stadium team so we can address it promptly.”
