'Very talented' - Stoke City youngster set for transfer exit

Stoke winger Favour Fawunmi played as a trialist for Shrewsbury in their pre-season friendly against Stafford Rangers and is training with the Shrewsbury Town with a view to a loan move for the new campaign.

The 20-year-old joined Stoke in 2025 after leaving West Ham and was on loan at League One Leyton Orient last season before his campaign was cut short by a hamstring injury.

The Shropshire Star reports that he will now have a chance to build a new start at Shrewsbury. The then 19-year-old winger returned early from his loan at Orient after he pulled up in a 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers on March 21 and returned to Clayton Wood for treatment.

He had made seven appearances in League One since making the switch late in the January transfer window, getting his first proper taste of regular senior football.

Orient boss Richie Wellens said: "We're disappointed to see Favour's time with us cut short. He has impressed me with his ability and his character shown as a young man.

"He's a very talented player and I'd like to wish him all the best for the future, one that I'm sure will be very successful."
