Max O'Leary: Ireland keeper signs new contract with West Brom

Goalkeeper Max O'Leary has signed a new three-year contract with West Bromwich Albion.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international joined the Baggies in January on a six-month deal from Bristol City, becoming then-Albion head coach Eric Ramsay's first signing.

He went on to make 16 appearances and keep eight clean sheets, with 12 and eight of those respectively, under new boss James Morrison as Albion secured their Championship survival after a difficult campaign.

"It was nice to contribute in a positive way in the second half of the season. We managed to secure plenty of clean sheets which, as a goalkeeper, is always a big plus," O'Leary told the club website., external

He added that Morrison, who signed a two-year contract to stay as head coach at the end of April, had brought "real clarity" since taking over following Ramsay's sacking in late February.

"Knowing he was staying on as permanent manager certainly made my decision easier. I'm really looking forward to working with him again in 2026-27."

O'Leary's new deal runs until the summer of 2029.
