Wrexham boss Parkinson pleased to see international stars return unscathed

The Leader Live · By Richard Williams

Five members of the Wrexham squad - Danny Ward, Kieffer Moore (both Wales), Issa Kaboré (Burkina Faso), Jacques Ekomié (Gabon) and Bailey Cadamarteri (Jamaica) - have been away with their respective countries.

Wales' last Nations League game, a 1-0 home defeat to Denmark, was on Sunday and the Reds' boss has given Ward and Moore some time off this week before returning to training ahead of Saturday's clash against Derby County at Pride Park.

It's been over as week since Kaboré and Ekomié took part in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the pair have been back training with their Reds' team-mates.

However, Jamaica's last CONCACAF Nations League game was against Honduras on Tuesday so Cadamarteri will be the last player to report back for duty with his club.

"It's certainly been different," Parkinson said about the extended first international break of the season which has lasted three weeks.

"First of all for the lads who have been away, they have had a long time away from their families.

"The good news from our point of view is they have all come back okay, although Bailey's not back with us yet.

"Kieffer and Wardy were given a couple of days off because they have had a hectic schedule.

"Jacques and Issa have probably done the most travelling but they have come back in good shape so we are pleased with that."
