Before Arsenal lock horns with the Toffees, Manchester City will play Aston Villa at Villa Park; if Unai Emery manages to get the better of Enzo Maresca, Arteta will have the opportunity to climb to the top of the table.

With just three points and a six-goal difference separating the Gunners from first place, they'll need to lace up their shooting boots this weekend. Speaking to reporters at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Friday afternoon, the Arsenal boss previewed the clash.

Arteta said: "I know David [Moyes] so well and the way he sets up the team. It's not a coincidence that they didn't lose before the last game. I don't know if he is the king or what it is, but we all look up to him and what he represents."

The Spaniard added: "Me especially, as I know the man behind the coach. I also know the coach, and he's a superb coach."

So, with that being said, journalists at football.london have selected the Arsenal starting lineup to face Everton.

I just have a feeling there will be changes against Everton, even though Fleetwood is on the horizon. I'd personally go with David Raya, Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori.

I just feel Calafiori won't complete the match. He's robust enough to start his third game in a row according to Mikel Arteta but with Piero Hincapie back and Myles Lewis-Skelly pushing for minutes, things could be shuffled quite easily.

Jurrien Timber isn't ready to start again, in my opinion, and White has played well this season, so that's a natural change that makes sense to me.

I'd go with MLS in midfield over Bruno Guimaraes. I don't think his pairing with Declan Rice has been as good as hoped and Lewis-Skelly brings a nice balance to the party.

I'd then start Noni Madueke on the right but would also be tempted to throw Max Dowman in. Martin Odegaard operates as the No.10 and then Eberechi Eze starts on the left after his goal vs Bayern.

Up top, Viktor Gyokeres deserves a start over Kai Havertz.

Ryan's starting lineup to face Everton: David Raya; Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori; Declan Rice, Myles Lewis-Skelly; Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze; Viktor Gyokeres.

At left-back, Myles Lewis-Skelly should replace Riccardo Calafiori, and, at right-back, Jurrien Timber should make way for Ben White. With William Saliba still out of action, Arteta can't afford to make too many changes at the heart of his backline, but Cristhian Mosquera would be a suitable stopgap for Ezri Konsa.

Arteta also needs to give Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard a rest at some point, but benching both this weekend could be a little risky. So, Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi should anchor the midfield, with the skipper a little further forward.

Unless the Gunners boss wants to throw Max Dowman in the deep end, Noni Madueke should start on the right, and Eberechi Eze should replace the injured Bukayo Saka. Although I think Arteta will play it safe and pick Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres has earned a place in the lineup.

The Swede made a good impression on Wednesday night, and a vote of confidence from his gaffer could be exactly what he needs to finally warrant his £67.5m price tag!

Jake's starting lineup to face Everton: David Raya; Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Cristhian Mosquera, Myles Lewis-Skelly; Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi; Eberechi Eze, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke; Viktor Gyokeres.
