Arsenal have endured a frustrating window so far, missing out on both Jeremy Monga and Morgan Rogers. However, an eye-catching move for Vinicius would be a statement signing.

According to The Telegraph, the Gunners are prepared to offer the forward the biggest contract ever given out by the club. It's said that the money on offer would improve on his current weekly salary of £400,000, with 'finance not a barrier.'

Those reports come after Bukayo Saka was given a contract reportedly worth £365,000 per week. That salary will also reportedly increase every year of the deal.

It's added that Arsenal are willing to 'explore every avenue' to sign Vinicius this summer. He has just 12 months remaining on his contract with Real, putting the Spanish club in a difficult position if a new deal is not signed.

Manager Jose Mourinho is said to be determined to keep hold of the forward this season as they look to beat rivals Barcelona to the La Liga title and go one further than the Champions League final defeat last season. The Spanish giants will demand a fee of £137 million for the 26-year-old if they are to sell, meaning that Arsenal will have to break the British record fee for a transfer.

That currently stands at £117m, the amount paid by Chelsea to Aston Villa to sign Rogers. It's the second time that the record has been broken this summer, with Manchester City shelling out £116m to Nottingham Forest for the signature of Elliot Anderson.

Last season saw Vinicius score 22 goals and provide 14 assists in all competitions. Since joining the club in 2018, the Brazilian has scored a total of 128 times, and provided 100 assists in 375 appearances.

Arsenal could be given a boost in their hopes of completing the transfer, with Real reportedly closing in on a deal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. The Bernabeu now looks like the most likely destination for the Ivory Coast international, whom Arsenal also showed an interest in.

If that transfer is completed, then Real could look to recoup some of that transfer fee back with a sale. It also adds competition in attacking areas of the squad, making them more likely to be willing to sell Vinicius.

Arsenal have had a quiet transfer window so far, as Arteta works with his squad in pre-season. Piero Hincapie has completed a permanent move to Emirates Stadium following a loan deal from Bayer Leverkusen last season.

The Gunners have also completed the signings of goalkeeper Illan Meslier and winger Christos Tzolis.
