MARCO Rose has been enjoying himself in Dorset since his arrival at AFC Bournemouth, getting stuck in playing golf at a club that is ‘like a zoo’ and taking a dip in the sea to show his friends that he’s a ‘really tough guy’!

Rose started at the club earlier this month and he has been making the most of what Bournemouth has to offer, including golf, its restaurants, and the beach, while making the most of the hot weather.

The 49-year-old revealed in his first interview with the club at the start of the summer that he enjoys playing golf in his downtime.

He has found his golf club in Dorset, thanks to new technical director Matt Ritchie.

"I have a favourite golf club now, Ferndown," he told the Daily Echo.

"Matt Ritchie is a member and I really like it there because it's like a zoo. You can see a fox, you can see a deer, you can see whatever.

"Sometimes you have to take care, even me, because I don't know where my balls are going. But I was out for three rounds of golf and of course some restaurants.

"Rick Stein's, very nice place to be.

"And [one of] the assistant coaches found a house close to the sea. I'm still looking for my apartment – no, I have it now, but I'm not in it so far.

"So I was at the sea, once in the sea, and to show my friends at home that I'm a really tough guy!

"So I don't know how long, because everyone says, Marco, don't get used to this weather here.

"Since I'm here, it's just 28 and sun, you know. So, yeah, I used the moment to go into the sea to show everyone I was in the sea!"
