Bournemouth host Championship Lincoln for the first time in more than 16 years when they meet in the Carabao Cup Tuesday.

The visitors to Dean Court were promoted from League One last season and now play in the second tier.

They have made a solid start to life in the Championship, and are on a run of three games unbeaten with a victory over Bolton before draws against Blackburn and most recently Southampton at the weekend.

New 6 ft 8 in striker Mikkel Ladefoged netted the equaliser off the bench on Saturday against Saints when he headed home from a cross, and the Cherries know they will face a stern test on Tuesday night.

“I watched the [Blackburn] game at home and of course I watched some other games as well,” boss Rose told the Daily Echo.

“So it's a team that plays quite simple. They are, I think, top in the league with set pieces. They play the most long balls.

“They have the less ball possession in the league, but they are quite compact in a 5-4-1. That's what you can see.

“They defend well and they have, like every team here in England, in the Premier League, Championship, League One, some players that are really special and able to score.

“They have a really good striker who kept the balls. And so it's going to be a challenge for us, but we want to stay in the cup.”

Bournemouth come into the game off the back of back-to-back draws with Everton and Newcastle at the weekend, and perhaps with half an eye on the visit of Brentford at the weekend and a trip to Real Sociedad to begin their Europa League campaign next week.

Asked how much rotation he will do, Rose said: “Well, we're going to talk about it.

“From now, we have to react on games and we have to handle the load because we play at the weekend again and then we play European League. And yeah, so we talk about it and of course it's possible to rotate.”
