Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu has completed a loan switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray with an "obligation" to make the move permanent next summer.

The Super Lig outfit revealed they are paying an initial £3million loan fee for the Frenchman and the move will cost £22.5million next summer.

Ugochukwu joined the Clarets from Chelsea 12 months ago and made 38 appearances as the club was relegated from the Premier League, scoring three goals.

The 22-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Southampton before making the move to Turf Moor.

Ugochukwu, a former France Under-21 international, now heads to Turkey as Galatasaray aim to defend their Super Lig crown.

"Dear Clarets, I would like to express my gratitude to the fans, the staff, my team-mates, and everyone who works so hard for this club every single day," he wrote on social media.

"I'm grateful for the trust, the support, and all the memories we've shared.

"Burnley is a historic club, and I truly believe the Clarets will be back where they belong.

"Today, a new chapter begins for me. I wish you all the best for the season ahead."

Jaidon Anthony and Loum Tchaouna recently completed moves to Brentford and Coventry City respectively, while Quilindschy Hartman headed to Espanyol on loan.

Maxime Esteve is reportedly set to join Bundesliga side RB Leibzig in a deal worth around £27million, including add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The French defender has been a key figure in the backline since his move to Lancashire in January 2024, making 36 appearances last term.

Burnley's only signing of the summer so far is Lluc Castell, who arrived from Espanyol for an undisclosed fee. The young winger has previously represented Spain at Under-18 level.

The Clarets played their last friendly in the United States overnight, losing 4-1 against Real Salt Lake. Florentino got on the scoresheet and new boss Nicky Hayen was on the touchline.
