The bloodied Danish centre-back eventually returned to the action after being cleaned up and wearing a new kit, and went on to produce a strong performance. Lathrope said: "He will probably need stitches in it. Where it is, it's not going to be a problem. at all. It was just above his lip, he has took a whack. "The worry was if we could stop the bleeding because of where it was. The medical team done a good job to get him back out there, but Mathias was adamant he wanted to stay on the pitch. "He's a strong lad, got a great mentality and we would have done well to get him off the pitch even if we wanted to!"
