The winners of the tie, which will be played at Bolitho Park on Saturday, October 17 will advance to the first round proper of the world famous knockout cup competition.

Parkway secured a spot in the fourth qualifying round for only the second time in their history when they came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Horsham on Saturday.

The previous time Parkway reached this stage of the FA Cup was in 2024 when they lost 4-0 to National League South side Worthing at Bolitho Park.

Parkway are currently top of Southern League Premier South with six wins and two draws from their nine games, and in the same division are Chertsey, who are seventh in the table with 14 points from the same number of matches.

Parrish said about Chertsey: "I think they are a very good side. They have recruited well in the summer but I think for both sides it represents a really good opportunity to get to the first round proper.

"We are hoping for a big bumper crowd. I believe Argyle are at home on that day as well (against Huddersfield Town in League One) so that's a bit frustrating, but it's going to be a special afternoon."

Parrish added: "We have only been to the fourth round qualifying once before and that was two seasons ago under Chris McPhee, when we lost to Worthing (4-0 at Bolitho Park).

"We haven't played Chertsey yet this season, which makes it more interesting. We know of them. It has always been close, difficult games in the past.

"Obviously, they have got to the fourth round qualifying for a reason. Two good sides, Chertsey have started quite well in the league.

"I think home advantage is massive and it's up to the club and up to the city to try and get as many fans down to Bolitho on the afternoon to get behind us and make some more club history."

Parkway entered the FA Cup this season in the first qualifying round, winning 3-1 away to Gosport Borough, and followed that with a 2-0 victory at Frome Town before defeating Horsham.

Chertsey won 2-1 away to Carshalton Athletic in a first qualifying round replay following a 1-1 draw at home. They then beat AFC Greenwich Borough 3-2 in another home tie before a 2-0 success at Sheppey United on Saturday.

Parrish added: "I think the general consensus is to have someone in our league and for it to be a winnable tie, not just for us but for both teams, at this level both at step three, adds to the ingredients and to the magic, and to what is going to be a very, very exciting, nervous - add any adjective you want - day. It's going to be crazy, it's going to be brilliant."

In other fourth qualifying round ties, Torquay United have been drawn at home to Oxford City while Truro City will be away to Sutton United.
