# Juventus hatch Coventry City transfer plan amid 'concrete' Lois Openda interest

Juventus want to resolve the immediate future of Coventry City -linked Lois Openda.

That’s according to Italian website Tuttosport who say the Serie A outfit recognises they are unlikely to find a solution ‘all at once’.

The report says ‘the hope is to loan the Belgian out with a conditional right or obligation to buy to one of Coventry, Lens, or Rennes’.

They reckon the Sky Blues have ‘expressed interest’ in the 26-year-old who had an underwhelming first season at Juventus, who signed the striker from RB Leipzig first on loan but with an obligation to buy for a reported €40million.

However, after just two goals in 37 appearances in all competitions – but only six league starts – he is already set to leave Turin.

The Belgium international has missed out on the World Cup squad and will instead spend his summer sorting out his next move – with Leeds United also previously linked.

Last month it was claimed City had shown ‘concrete interest’ in a player who made his breakthrough at Club Brugge, then on to Lens and Red Bull where he scored 41 times in 93 games, including 33 in Bundesliga.

As things stand the Sky Blues have Haji Wright and Ellis Simms as their two front-line options at centre forward.
